Living in Favoriten
Favoriten is one of Vienna's most populous districts and very diverse. Around Reumannplatz and Favoritenstraße there are Gründerzeit buildings and council estates, and the Viktor-Adler-Markt is where people do their daily shopping. Next to the main station, the Sonnwendviertel has grown into a whole new quarter of new-build flats with the Helmut-Zilk-Park at its centre.
Since its extension, the U1 runs through the whole district to Oberlaa, home to the Therme Wien spa and the Kurpark. The main station puts S-Bahn and long-distance trains on your doorstep. In the south, on the Wienerberg, the Laaer Berg and at Monte Laa, there is plenty of green and newer housing. Rents are mostly below the Vienna median but vary a lot between new builds near the main station and older buildings around Keplerplatz.
